Configuration

Settings

The Settings screen, top to bottom. A search box at the top (Search settings…) filters the sections as you type.

General

  • Output folder — All utilities save under this root, in per-utility subfolders. This row is shared with the other Clearware apps. CardTray's games produce no files, so nothing in CardTray writes here; your games live in CardTray's own database.
  • Solvers running at once — How many solvers run at the same time (1–16). One at a time by default. A solve keeps a processor core busy, so raise this only on a PC with cores to spare. See Solvers.

Notifications

  • Notify when a job finishes — in CardTray, this shows a Windows notification when a solve finishes or fails. Cancelling a solve never notifies. The Daily Challenge reminders are separate — see Reminders.

Startup & window

  • Launch on Windows startup — Start CardTray minimized to the tray at login.

Updates

  • Update channel — Stable or Beta. Beta receives releases earlier, with more risk.
  • Check for updates — Check now. See Updates.

Privacy & diagnostics

  • Crash reports — Send anonymized crash diagnostics (Sentry).
  • Usage analytics — Send anonymous feature-usage events (Aptabase).
  • Reinstall / Uninstall analytics — On first launch, send a single anonymous id so we can measure installs and reinstalls and which sources lead to real usage. No URLs, filenames, or media.

See Privacy.

Bandwidth exchange

  • Share idle bandwidth — the switch that keeps CardTray free. The line under it says where you stand: On. The utilities are available., Off. The utilities are disabled until you turn sharing back on., or Stopped from the Massive tray icon.
  • Exchange status — Live — this is the engine's actual state. See How CardTray is funded for each status.

Utilities

One card per game tile — Game Gallery, Continue Game, Daily Challenge, Stats & Records — each with a switch that shows or hides it in the sidebar. Continue Game, Daily Challenge and Stats & Records have no additional settings. Game Gallery's card holds the board options every tile shares:

  • Card deck and Table — see Themes.
  • Sound effects — card sounds on or off.
  • Ambience — The card theme's background soundscape during a game.
  • Volume — 0 to 100.
  • Auto-move — Off, Safe moves only or Every move to the foundations. Moves cards to the foundations for you. Applies to your next game. See Auto-move.
  • Animation speed — 0.5× to 2×. In this version the setting is saved but does not yet change how fast cards move.

About

  • Version — the installed CardTray build.
  • Privacy policy — Open opens it in your browser.
  • Open-source licenses — View lists the open-source libraries CardTray is built on, with their licenses.
