Getting started
The main window
CardTray's window is a sidebar plus a content area. Its default size is 1280×800, because a card table needs room.
The sidebar
The sidebar has three groups:
- Utilities — the four game tiles, in this order:
- Game Gallery — every game in the library; where you start and continue games. See Game Gallery.
- Continue Game — your full history of games, to filter and watch back. See Continue Game.
- Daily Challenge — today's deal, your streaks and the calendar. See Daily Challenge.
- Stats & Records — your numbers, high scores and achievements. See Stats & Records.
- Customize — Themes, the card deck and tabletop showroom. See Themes.
- System — Solvers (the answers to "can this game still be won?", see Solvers) and Settings (see Settings).
Feedback sits at the very bottom of the list. It opens a short form for telling us what is wrong or what you would like.
The sidebar's footer shows the installed version, any update in progress (see Updates) and a live Exchange: status for the bandwidth sharing — hover it for a plain-language explanation. See How CardTray is funded.
You can hide a tile you never use from Settings → Utilities. If you turn them all off, the Utilities group reads No utilities enabled. Turn some on in Settings.
When a game is on screen
A board takes over the whole window: the sidebar and the header disappear, and the cards get
every pixel. Press F11 (or use Enter fullscreen (F11) in the pause menu) for true
fullscreen. Esc opens the pause menu and never leaves fullscreen; Back to library in that
menu brings the sidebar back. See Playing a game.
What usually goes wrong
The sidebar has vanished. A game, a replay or a solution is on screen. Press Esc and choose
Back to library, or Exit replay (the ✕) at the bottom right of a replay.
A tile shows "Bandwidth sharing is off". That notice replaces all four tiles while sharing is off, with a Turn sharing on in Settings button. Themes, Solvers, Settings and Feedback keep working. See How CardTray is funded.
