Solver
Solver
Stuck, and not sure it's you? Ask CardTray whether the game can still be won from where you are. If it can, you can watch a winning line. After a loss, ask whether that deal was ever winnable at all.
Windows 10/11 (x64) · Free · No account
Solves run on your own PC, one at a time by default, while you keep playing.

What it's for
Why players use Solver
Not feature bullets: the actual moments it is for.
- Settling whether a game is hopeless before you sink another twenty minutes into it.
- Finding out whether the deal you just lost was ever winnable.
- Watching the line that wins a FreeCell deal you couldn't crack, then trying it yourself.
What it does
Everything Solver handles
Everything below runs on your own PC and is saved there.
Is this winnable?
Ask about the position in front of you. The answer arrives tagged with the move it's about.
Watch the solution
Watch your own moves up to that point, then the winning line, at 0.5× to 8×.
Was this deal winnable?
After a loss, ask about the original deal. A finished game is already scored, so asking changes nothing.
A Solvers screen
Every solve in one place, with progress and Cancel. Answers are kept, so asking the same question again is instant.
Every answer is checked
A winning line is played through the same checker that verifies your games before it's shown.
Honest labels
Winnable, Not winnable or Unknown. Large deals often come back Unknown, and CardTray says so.
How it works
Three steps
- 1
Press Is this winnable?
Confirm once that this game won't count toward bests, streaks or achievements.
- 2
Keep playing
The solver works in the background, and takes a second, deeper pass if it needs one.
- 3
Read the answer
If it's winnable, View solution opens the winning line on the Solvers screen.
Under the hood
The details, named
What "winnable" means here.
- Knowledge
- The solver sees the whole deal, including face-down cards and the stock order
- Answers
- Winnable, Not winnable, or Unknown when a deal is too big to settle
- Runs
- On your PC, one solve at a time by default (you can raise it)
- Not offered
- On a live Daily Challenge, and on games the solver doesn't support
A game you use the solver on is marked assisted. It still counts toward played and won, but not toward personal bests, streaks, the Daily calendar or achievements. The solver says a game "can be won", never "you can win this", because it sees cards you can't.
