Daily Challenge

Daily Challenge

One new deal every day, the same deal on every PC that runs CardTray, and every one of them proven winnable before it reaches you. Your first finished attempt counts for your streak. After that, retry as often as you like to beat your best.

Windows 10/11 (x64) · Free · No account

The daily deal is worked out on your PC from the date. There's no server and no account.

One card lit up among a grid of face-down cards.

What it's for

Why players use Daily Challenge

Not feature bullets: the actual moments it is for.

  • A quick game with your morning coffee that keeps a streak alive.
  • Comparing today's time with a friend who played the same deal.
  • Going back through the calendar to practise a day you missed.

What it does

Everything Daily Challenge handles

Everything below runs on your own PC and is saved there.

One deal a day

Everyone gets the same game and the same cards on the same date.

Proven winnable

Each day's deal is one the solver has shown has a winning line.

Streaks

Your current and best streak count consecutive days with a scored win.

A calendar to fill

Every day is marked Won, Lost, Missed or Practice only. Page back through earlier months.

Share your result

Copy a one-line summary of the date, game, result, time, moves and streak. It contains no seed, so it never gives the deal away.

Reminders, if you want them

An optional nudge when the new deal is ready, and one when a streak of 3 or more is at risk. Both are off unless you turn them on.

How it works

Three steps

  1. 1

    Open Daily Challenge

Today's game is waiting, with your current and best streak above it.

  2. 2

    Play your scored attempt

The first finished attempt of the day counts for your streak and calendar.

  3. 3

    Retry for your best

Play the same deal again as often as you like. Retries chase your personal best and never change today's result.

Under the hood

The details, named

The rules of the daily, plainly.

Deal
Chosen from the date, the same on every PC
Pool
Fully verified games only, so a streak can never be lost to a rules bug
Winnable
Every Daily has a proven winning line
Reminders
At most one a day, never on a day you've played, and off by default

"Winnable" means a win exists when every face-down card is known. You can't see those cards, so you can still lose an honest game. That's normal. The solver isn't offered on a live Daily, so asking can never cost you the day.
