Canfield
How to Play Double Canfield Solitaire

A kinder, gentler two-deck version of Canfield, drawing three cards at a time from the stock with unlimited redeals for extra chances to finish. Balance tableau building with managing a 13-card reserve pile.
Setup
- Shuffle two full decks together.
- Deal one card to start the first foundation pile—this rank becomes the base for all eight foundations.
- Deal one card to each of 5 tableau piles.
- Deal 13 cards face down to the reserve pile, with only the top card visible.
- Place remaining cards (85 cards) in the stock and an empty waste pile.
How to play
- Click the stock to deal 3 cards at a time face-up to the waste pile. Only the top card is playable.
- On the foundations, build up by suit starting from your base rank (e.g., if the base is 7♠, build 7, 8, 9... King, Ace, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six). All eight foundations follow this same rank pattern.
- On the tableau, build down in alternating colors: red 5 on black 6, for example. You can move single cards or entire sequences together if they follow the down-by-one-rank pattern. When a tableau pile becomes empty, it's refilled automatically with the top reserve card.
- Play the top card of the reserve to the foundations or tableau.
- When the stock runs out, click it to redeal: the waste pile becomes the new stock (unlimited passes).
- The game automatically moves cards to the foundations when they can't be used elsewhere in the tableau (you can adjust this behavior in Settings).
How to win
Objective: Move all 104 cards to eight foundation piles, each building up by suit from a base rank (determined randomly at the start).
You win when all cards reach the eight foundation piles. Unlimited redeals mean you keep cycling the stock until you either finish or run out of legal moves.
Tips
- Use the reserve strategically—exposing buried reserve cards often opens winning pathways.
- Build long tableau sequences early to unlock more cards and create empty piles.
- Don't rush moving reserve cards to the foundations; sometimes they're more valuable in the tableau for moving sequences.
