Forty Thieves
How to Play Sixty Thieves Solitaire

A large-scale Forty Thieves relative played with three decks. With 12 foundation piles and 12 tableau columns to manage, this game demands patience and careful planning.
Setup
- Twelve foundation piles start empty (will build up from Ace to King by suit)
- Twelve tableau piles each receive 5 cards face up
- Remaining cards form the stock; click to deal cards to the waste pile one at a time
How to play
- Move cards to the foundations by building sequences from Ace up through King in the same suit. Cards move to the foundations automatically once no other card could be built on them (you can change this in Settings to always send cards automatically or turn it off)
- In the tableau, build downward in the same suit (e.g., a 5♠ onto a 6♠). Only the top card of each pile can be moved
- Any card can fill an empty tableau pile
- Draw from the stock by clicking it. Once the stock runs out, the game ends—there's no redeal
- Plan your moves: with limited access to tableau cards, decisions matter
How to win
Objective: Move all 156 cards to the foundation piles
You win when all twelve foundation piles are complete, each built up from Ace through King in suit. The game is lost if the stock runs out and no more moves are possible.
Tips
- Focus on creating empty tableau columns early to improve your maneuvering options
- Same-suit building is restrictive—think several moves ahead before placing a card
- With three decks and large tableau, patience and strategic sequencing are essential
