How to Play Quadruple Trigon Solitaire

2 min read
The opening deal of Quadruple Trigon Solitaire, laid out on a green felt table.

Trigon expanded to four decks: build tableau runs in matching suit rather than alternating colors, across a wide 16-pile layout. The goal: Move all 208 cards to the 16 foundation piles.

Setup

  1. Deal the first card to the first tableau pile, 2 to the second, 3 to the third, and so on through 16 piles (face up only the top card of each).
  2. Place the remaining 72 cards in the stock.

How to play

  • Build foundations upward in suit from Ace through King.
  • Build tableau piles downward in the same suit (e.g., hearts on hearts, clubs on clubs).
  • Move sequences of cards together when each card is one rank lower in the same suit.
  • Only Kings fill empty tableau piles.
  • Click the stock to deal 1 card at a time to the waste.
  • When the stock empties, click it to turn the waste over for unlimited redeals.
  • Cards automatically move to the foundations once no other card could be built on them (you can change this behavior in Settings).

How to win

Objective: Move all 208 cards to the 16 foundation piles.

You win when all cards are on the foundations. The same-suit building rule is more restrictive than color-based games.

Tips

  • Same-suit building is tighter than alternating colors, so plan several moves ahead.
  • Empty a tableau pile early to give yourself a maneuvering space.
  • Watch for sequences that block each other across multiple piles.
