How to Play FreeCell Four Deck Solitaire

A marathon four-deck FreeCell with 208 cards, 16 foundation piles, 14 tableau columns, and 14 cells—the ultimate FreeCell challenge for devoted puzzle enthusiasts. The goal: Move all 208 cards to 16 foundation piles, building each suit from Ace to King with four cards of each rank.
Setup
- All 208 cards are dealt face-up into 14 tableau columns
- Fourteen temporary cells sit above the tableau, each holding one card
- Sixteen foundation piles await cards built up by suit (four copies of each suit)
How to play
- Cards automatically move to foundation piles by suit once they can no longer be used elsewhere; you can customize this behavior in Settings
- In the tableau, build downward in alternating colors (red on black, black on red)
- Move the top card from any tableau pile to another pile, a cell, or a foundation
- With 14 cells available, you have significant maneuvering space—plan strategically to avoid dead ends
- Empty tableau columns accept any card and are essential for rearranging large sequences
How to win
Objective: Move all 208 cards to 16 foundation piles, building each suit from Ace to King with four cards of each rank.
The game is won when all 16 foundation piles are complete, each holding a full Ace-to-King run in their respective suits.
Tips
- Start by identifying which cards will form foundation bases; with four decks, you'll see duplicates everywhere
- Use your abundant cells to gradually build connected sequences in the tableau
- This is a marathon deal with 208 cards, so budget plenty of time and expect it to take a while to finish
