FreeCell
How to Play FreeCell Duplex Solitaire

A two-deck version of FreeCell with 104 cards, 12 tableau piles, and 8 temporary cells, designed for players who want a longer, more complex puzzle. The goal: Move all 104 cards to eight foundation piles, building each suit from Ace to King with two cards of each rank.
Setup
- All 104 cards are dealt face-up into 12 tableau columns
- Eight temporary cells sit above the tableau, each holding one card
- Eight foundation piles wait to build up by suit (two of each suit due to the two decks)
How to play
- Cards automatically move to foundation piles by suit once they can no longer be used elsewhere; you can customize this behavior in Settings
- In the tableau, build downward in alternating colors (red on black, black on red)
- Move the top card from any tableau pile to another pile, a cell, or a foundation
- Use the eight cells to temporarily store cards and rearrange complex sequences
- Empty tableau columns accept any card and provide crucial maneuvering space
How to win
Objective: Move all 104 cards to eight foundation piles, building each suit from Ace to King with two cards of each rank.
The game is won when all eight foundation piles are complete, each holding a full Ace-to-King run in their respective suits (two piles per suit, since two decks are in play).
Tips
- With more cells available than standard FreeCell, you have extra flexibility—use it to plan several moves ahead
- Focus on clearing tableau columns early to give yourself room to work
- Duplicate ranks mean you'll often see both copies of a card; keep track of which suits still need them
