How to Play Fifteen Rush Solitaire

3 min read
The opening deal of Fifteen Rush Solitaire, laid out on a green felt table.

A pairing game where you remove pairs of cards that either sum to 15 (with Ace counting as 1) or match the same rank, plus traditional solitaire foundations. The goal: Clear every card off the board by pairing them off or building Aces up to Kings in the foundations.

Setup

  1. Four foundation piles ready to build in suit from Ace to King
  2. Seven tableau piles dealt in a pyramid: 1 card, 2 cards, 3 cards, and so on
  3. Each tableau pile shows only the top card face up
  4. One stock pile dealing three cards at a time to the waste

How to play

  • Remove pairs of uncovered cards by clicking one card and dragging it onto its partner
  • A valid pair is either two cards of the same rank (e.g., two 7s) or two cards that add up to 15, counting Ace as 1 (e.g., 10 + 5, 9 + 6)
  • Removed pairs go to a discard pile
  • Only uncovered cards (those with no card above them) can be paired
  • Build foundations up in suit from Ace to King whenever possible
  • When a tableau space empties, it automatically refills with the top card from the stock, or from the waste when the stock is empty
  • Click the stock to deal three cards to the waste; when the stock runs out, click it again to flip the waste back over as a new stock, with no limit on passes

How to win

Objective: Clear every card off the board by pairing them off or building Aces up to Kings in the foundations.

You win when every card has been paired off or built onto a foundation, clearing the tableau, waste, and stock. You lose if no matching pairs remain, no card can move to a foundation, and cards are still on the board.

Tips

  • Pair off cards strategically to uncover cards below in the tableau
  • Look for multiple sum combinations: 10+5, 9+6, 8+7 all equal 15
  • Use foundations when possible to reduce tableau congestion
