How to Play Putt Putt Solitaire

A single-foundation game where you build up or down by rank, and the run wraps from King back to Ace so you're rarely stuck for long. The goal: Clear the tableau by moving all cards to the single foundation, ending when you run out of legal moves or empty the tableau.
Setup
- One foundation pile is started with the first dealt card (any card can start)
- Seven tableau piles are each dealt 5 cards face-up
- Remaining cards form the stock (16 cards)
How to play
- On the foundation, you can place a card one rank higher OR one rank lower than the top card (King and Ace wrap into each other)
- Any suit is allowed on the foundation
- Only top cards of tableau piles can be moved to the foundation
- Tableau piles cannot be built upon and cannot be filled when empty
- Click the stock to deal one card at a time onto the foundation (one pass only, no redeal)
- You can deal from the stock at any time—you don't have to exhaust tableau moves first
- Cards that can be played to the foundation move there automatically (you can change this in Settings)
How to win
Objective: Clear the tableau by moving all cards to the single foundation, ending when you run out of legal moves or empty the tableau.
You win by clearing all 7 tableau piles onto the foundation—leftover stock cards don't need to be played. You're stuck when no top card can legally play to the foundation.
Tips
- Use both directions (up and down) on the foundation to keep sequences going
- Plan tableau moves carefully since the foundation has limited card selection
- Don't rely too heavily on the stock draw—focus on exhausting tableau options first
