How to Play Pas Seul Solitaire

2 min read
The opening deal of Pas Seul Solitaire, laid out on a green felt table.

Pas Seul is a Klondike-style game with six tableau piles. You only get a single trip through the stock, so every card counts.

Setup

  1. Deal 3 cards to each of 6 tableau piles; only the top card of each pile is face up
  2. Create 4 foundation piles (initially empty, will start with aces)
  3. Stock pile contains remaining cards; deal one at a time to the waste

How to play

  • Build the foundations up by suit from Ace through King
  • In the tableau, build down in alternating colors (red on black, black on red)
  • You can move a sequence of cards together if each builds correctly
  • Empty tableau spaces accept any card or sequence
  • Foundations receive cards automatically when no other play is available (this can be changed in Settings)
  • Click the stock to deal one card at a time to the waste; play only the top waste card
  • There is no redeal—once the stock is exhausted, you don't get another pass through it

How to win

Objective: Move all 52 cards to the four foundations in suit from Ace through King.

You win when all cards reach the foundations. You're stuck when the stock runs out and no legal moves remain.

Tips

  • Since there's no second chance through the deck, plan your moves carefully
  • Creating empty tableau spaces early gives you flexibility to rearrange sequences
  • Move cards to the foundations whenever possible to reduce clutter
