How to Play Easthaven Solitaire

2 min read
The opening deal of Easthaven Solitaire, laid out on a green felt table.

A challenging blend of Klondike and Spider where you build mixed-color sequences downward and gradually reveal hidden cards from seven tableau piles. The goal: Move all 52 cards to the four foundations, building up from Ace to King in each suit.

Setup

  1. Four foundation piles are laid out (one for each suit).
  2. A stock pile contains remaining cards, dealt one at a time.
  3. Seven tableau piles contain three cards each, with only the top card of each pile face up.
  4. Empty tableau spaces can receive any card.

How to play

  • Click the stock to deal one card onto each tableau pile; you only get one pass through the stock, with no redeal.
  • Build tableau sequences downward by one rank, alternating colors (red on black, black on red).
  • Move entire sequences together as long as each card is one rank lower and opposite color from the card it lands on.
  • Only the top card of a tableau pile can be sent to a foundation.
  • Aces start the foundations and are built up in suit.
  • Qualifying cards automatically move to the foundations when no other play can be made; you can adjust this in Settings.

How to win

Objective: Move all 52 cards to the four foundations, building up from Ace to King in each suit.

Win by moving all cards to the foundations. You're stuck when no moves remain and the stock is exhausted.

Tips

  • Deal from the stock only when no other moves remain, since you only get one pass through it.
  • Focus on small moves that flip face-down cards instead of trying to build long sequences immediately.
  • Plan ahead before sending cards to a foundation, since only the top card of a pile can go there.
