How to Play Spider Two Suits Solitaire

A moderate version of Spider using hearts and spades only. Mixing suits on the tableau is allowed, but only same-suit runs can move together.
Setup
- Four decks (hearts and spades) shuffle together (104 cards)
- 10 tableau piles deal with only the top card face up: first 4 piles get 6 cards each (5 face down, 1 face up), remaining 6 piles get 5 cards each (4 face down, 1 face up)
- Remaining 50 cards form the stock
- 16 foundation piles wait empty, though only eight will ever hold a completed run
How to play
- On the tableau, place any card one rank lower than the card below it, any suit
- Move groups of cards together only if they form a sequence in the same suit—this restricts which cards can move as a group
- Click the stock at any time to deal one card onto each tableau pile, as long as no pile is empty
- Build complete 13-card runs from King to Ace in hearts or spades, then move them to an empty foundation pile yourself
- Use empty piles to break mixed-suit sequences and rearrange cards into playable sequences
How to win
Objective: Remove all cards to the foundations by completing eight 13-card runs in hearts and spades.
You win when all eight foundation piles hold complete sequences. The game is stuck if no more moves are possible and the stock is exhausted.
Tips
- Finding matching suits is easier with only two suits, making sequences less likely to get trapped
- Separate mixed sequences deliberately to free cards for foundation play
- Plan several moves ahead to avoid blocking yourself with mismatched cards
