Spider
How to Play Spider One Suit Solitaire

A single-suit version of Spider using only spades, dealt from eight decks. Since every card shares a suit, any descending run of any length can be moved together, making this the easiest Spider variant.
Setup
- Eight spade decks shuffle together (104 spade cards)
- 10 tableau piles deal with only the top card face up: first 4 piles get 6 cards each (5 face down, 1 face up), remaining 6 piles get 5 cards each (4 face down, 1 face up)
- Remaining 50 cards form the stock
How to play
- On the tableau, place any spade one rank lower than the card below it
- Because every card is a spade, you can always move a whole descending run together, no matter how long it is
- Click the stock at any time to deal one card onto each tableau pile, as long as no pile is empty
- You win by sorting every tableau pile into a complete King-to-Ace run; completed runs may also be sent off to the foundations
- Use empty tableau piles to maneuver cards and free up buried runs
How to win
Objective: Arrange every tableau pile into complete descending runs from King down to Ace to win.
You win when the tableau is fully sorted into complete runs. The game ends if you're stuck and the stock has no cards left to deal.
Tips
- Because all cards match suit, focus on rank order rather than hunting for matching suits
- Use empty piles to consolidate runs and expose hidden cards
- This is the easiest Spider variant—ideal for learning the game
