How to Play Perseverance B Solitaire

3 min read
The opening deal of Perseverance B Solitaire, laid out on a green felt table.

Perseverance B is a companion to Perseverance A: the four aces start on the foundations, and you clear the rest of the deck from twelve tableau piles by moving same-suit sequences. The goal: Move all 52 cards to the four foundations in suit from Ace through King.

Setup

  1. Deal 4 cards to the 4 foundation piles as a head start—each an Ace
  2. Deal the remaining 48 cards into 12 tableau piles, 4 cards each
  3. All cards are face-up

How to play

  • Build the foundations up by suit from Ace through King
  • In the tableau, build down in the same suit (9♣ on 10♣, 5♦ on 6♦, etc.)
  • Move a sequence together if it builds correctly in descending suit order
  • After the deal, each King in the tableau moves to the bottom of its pile
  • Empty tableau spaces cannot be filled—once a pile is empty, it stays empty
  • Foundations receive cards automatically when no other play is available (this can be changed in Settings)
  • The Redeal button shuffles all tableau cards and deals them back out in the same pile sizes; you can use it any time, up to 2 times per game

How to win

Objective: Move all 52 cards to the four foundations in suit from Ace through King.

You win when all cards reach the foundations. You're stuck when no legal moves remain and you have no redeals left.

Tips

  • Empty spaces are permanent, so plan ahead before you drain a pile
  • Moving sequences is your key tool—use it to dig out cards you need for the foundations
  • Work on multiple piles at once so you're never left with only one option
