Baker's Dozen
How to Play Castile Solitaire

An open game where reserve piles supply cards and the tableau builds without suit restrictions, requiring careful planning to make room. The goal: Move all 52 cards to the foundations, building each suit from Ace to King.
Setup
- Four foundations start empty (one per suit)
- Four reserve piles hold 7 cards each face up—these supply playable cards
- Eight tableau piles hold 3 cards each face up
How to play
- Play only the top card from reserve piles—they can go to the tableau or foundations
- Build tableau piles down regardless of suit: move any 5 onto any 6, a 3 onto any 4
- Matching cards automatically move to the foundations once no other move is available for them; you can configure this in Settings
- Empty tableau piles can only be filled with a King, so use them strategically
- Plan your reserve moves carefully to expose the cards you need beneath
How to win
Objective: Move all 52 cards to the foundations, building each suit from Ace to King.
You win when all four foundations are complete with all 13 cards in each suit. You're stuck when no legal moves remain.
Tips
- Kings are valuable for creating new tableau piles—don't waste them early
- Try to build long sequences on the tableau to free up Kings for new piles
- Watch which cards are buried in the reserve piles and plan when they'll become available
