Canfield
How to Play Canfield Rush Solitaire

A variant of Canfield that gets progressively easier with each deal. The first redeal deals two cards at a time instead of three, and the final deal goes one at a time, giving you more control as the game progresses.
Setup
- Deal 13 cards face down as a reserve pile, then flip the top card face up
- Deal one card face up to start the first foundation. Its rank becomes the base rank for all four foundation piles
- Deal one card face up to each of four tableau piles
- The remaining cards form the stock. The other three foundation piles start empty and open once a card of the base rank turns up
How to play
- First pass: Click the stock to deal three cards to the waste pile each time
- Second pass: After the first redeal, deals are two cards at a time to the waste
- Third pass: After the second redeal, deals are one card at a time
- Build foundation piles upward by rank in the same suit (wrapping around: King continues to Ace)
- In the tableau, build downward in alternating colors (like 8♣ → 7♥ → 6♣ → 5♥). You can move sequences together.
- Play the reserve pile's top card whenever possible—the reserve keeps your options open
- When a tableau pile empties, it automatically refills with the top reserve card, giving you fresh maneuvering room
- Cards automatically move to the foundations once no other card can be built on them. You can turn this off in Settings if you prefer to move them manually.
How to win
Objective: Build all four foundation piles complete to win
You win when all four foundation piles are complete. You have three passes total (one dealing threes, one dealing twos, one dealing ones).
Tips
- The decreasing deal size gives you more control as the game goes on—save harder moves for later passes
- Create empty tableau piles early when you have multiple-card deals
- Play the reserve pile aggressively to expose new cards
